backstage pass
Backstage at the shows is where the real work happens, and we want to give you an exclusive peak into this glamorous world.
London Fashion Week September 2009
Behind the scenes at the Erdem show was a hive of activity. We spotted Samantha Cameron sporting an Erdem jacket and one of Charles Worthington’s clients, Erin O’Connor.
Erdem spring/summer collection
It is pops of vibrant colour against darker backgrounds that sparks Erdem’s imagination for SS10. Black and stone neutrals are the foil to his intensely coloured floral prints. You can see these bold designs on three bottles from our Front Row product range.
The hair
The Charles Worthington Creative Team gave all the models Japanese-style Kami knots, using the Front Row styling range. Each stylist began by taking the softness away from the hair with Front Row Rough and Tousled Salt Spray. They then twisted it into a bun, leaving the blunt end emerging from the bottom. The styles were sprayed with Front Row Forever Lasting Hairspray and spritzed with Front Row Shine Spray to make them glisten under the lights.
London Fashion Week February 2009
Back in February the Charles Worthington Creative Team was developing the Front Row range. So while they prepped the models’ hair for the catwalk, they were also feverishly researching their brand new products.
Erdem autumn/winter collection
Erdem’s AW09 collection was one of the most eagerly awaited shows
of LFW, and quite rightly. There were sugar-pink and ice-blue tones aplenty as the Elle Style Award Winner unveiled his doll–inspired collection – a stunning line up of dresses featuring delicate French lace, jewel-encrusted sleeves and deep hemlines.
The hair
The doll-like silhouettes of Erdem’s collection inspired a playful bun atop the models’ heads.
The Charles Worthington Creative Team gave the traditional ‘Dolly Bun' an innovative twist by using a static-creating technique. First the hair was primed with volume boosting mousse to give volume and texture, before being pulled into a ponytail directly on top of the head, backcombed to create static and twisted over into a bun.
